té para 3 (The Silence of Space)
té para 3 (The Silence of Space)
is a work that invites reflection on the boundaries between intimacy and emotional distance, symbolizing the relationship between two people who, despite sharing a space, fail to truly connect. Meanwhile, a third influence (though absent) remains a dominant presence. Although the original song by Cerati refers to "tea for three," in my work, I have chosen to represent two cups of coffee, intentionally making this change as a way to reflect a greater emotional intensity and perhaps a more palpable tension in the relationship. Coffee, in contrast to tea, can suggest something stronger, a bond marked not only by passion but also by weariness or discomfort. This painting conveys a sense of incompleteness, of things left unsaid, and of what is lost as emotions fade into the air, like the steam rising from those two cups of coffee, dissipating slowly and leaving an atmosphere of melancholy and uncertainty.
